Meet the ultra-fabulous Julia Perez. She is the queen of sugaring and facials in San Diego. What is sugaring? According to Wikipedia:

Sugaring is a method of epilation that is similar to waxing, and, for that reason, is “often called sugar waxing or Persian waxing.” It has been in use since 1900 BC, “when a hairless and smooth body was considered the standard of youth, beauty and innocence for women in Egypt.” Sugaring can be less painful than waxing, because the substrate sticks to the hair without attaching to the skin, may be applied at room temperature or heated to a lukewarm temperature, preventing burning.

So if you’re in San Diego and looking to be beautified, book an appointment with Julia STAT. She rocks. And she’ll turn you to a pile of happy, smooth mush. I met the strikingly beautiful Kevan last year at the local MAC cosmetics store and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. A friend of mine posted a link about having Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go’s officiate her wedding. How cool is that? I’d love to photograph a wedding officiated by Reverend Sister Go-Go herself. I might even consider doing it for free for the price of a plane ticket, car, and hotel. *Drool* I live for out-of-the-ordinary. Yes I do.

Hot dang. Fellow photographer Armin DeFiesta pointed me to this videographer and I was floored by the quality and cinematic styling of their work. Check them out. If money isn’t an option, hire these people. Otherwise, save your pennies and hire these people.

That is the smell of spring around the corner! Okay, maybe not the smell, but definitely the warmth. Today was a toasty 70 here in my neck of the woods in Northern Virginia. Earlier in the week it was in the teens. Color me excited! Last weekend we had snow, this weekend we have t-shirt and flip flop weather. I am doing mental backflips. Harder to do the real ones in my mid-30′s. I dragged the kids out of the house as soon as my older boys got home from school and let them run amuck at a local park. The cold weather has kept us cooped up inside. I am excited about getting out and exploring more of Virginia again.

My 13 month old daughter has taken it upon herself to make sure her daddy gets enough to eat. She enjoys feeding him, then looks to make sure I’m watching. Exhibit A & B below:
